The annual prize

Since the beginning, The Ben Webster Foundation has honoured Danish and American Jazz musicians with an annual prize. It started quite modest with a prize for 500 kr. to the tenor saxofonist Jesper Thilo. Since then the prestigious prize has grown 50 times and is now 25.000 danish crowns, ca. 5.000 dollars The prize is given in connection with special concerts in different venues as  The Montmartre/ /Unicorn/Ben Webster-restaurant/Huset/Søpavillonen/Copenhagen Jazzhouse /Queens Hall, Royal Library/ Christianias Jazzklub/ Sofies Cellar/ Copenhagen Jazzhouse/Tivoli Huset and other places Chairman Henrik Wolsgaard-Iversen congratulates the brothers Niels Lan Doky and Chris Minh Doky with The Ben Webster Prize 2008 at the prizeconcert held in The Tivoli Gardens.
